VenueChef is designed for busy hospitality environments where staff and guests use a mix of devices, lighting conditions and abilities. We aim to meet recognised accessibility standards and welcome feedback on where we can improve.
What we do now
- The web portal uses semantic HTML, focus-visible outlines, and logical heading order.
- Colour is not the only way information is conveyed: labels, icons and text accompany status indicators.
- The guest QR menu respects the device's font-size and zoom settings and does not disable pinch-to-zoom.
- Staff operational flows are tested for touch targets and readability in bright sunlight.
Standards
We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA across our web surfaces. The Flutter operational apps follow equivalent platform accessibility guidance for Android.
Known limitations
Some advanced reporting interfaces contain complex tables and charts that may be harder to navigate with a screen reader. We are improving these over time. The operational app is primarily touch and sight-based; audio cues for kitchen displays are in development.
