This page explains how VenueChef subscriptions work, how to cancel, and when a refund may be available.
How subscriptions work
VenueChef subscriptions are billed in advance for the period you choose: monthly, seasonal (six months) or yearly. Billing is based on the number of active venues connected to your organisation at the time of billing. Venues that are paused or closed for the season are not billed. There is no free plan: the service is available only while your subscription is paid.
How to cancel
You can cancel at any time through the Subscription page inside your VenueChef account. The page links to the Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel the subscription, update your payment method and download past invoices.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. You keep access until that date.
What happens after cancellation
At the end of the paid period your subscription ends and access stops: you and your staff can no longer use the dashboard or the apps, and your venue page, QR menu, ordering and booking are no longer available to guests. The same happens at once if a payment fails — there is no grace period — until the payment succeeds. Your data is kept for a reasonable period and is there again if you subscribe again; to receive a copy, contact legal@venuechef.com. After that period it may be deleted in line with our retention policy.
Refunds
We do not automatically refund partial months. If you believe you were billed in error — for example, a venue was closed but still counted as active — contact legal@venuechef.com with the invoice number and we will review it.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EEA
Where you subscribe as a consumer rather than as a business, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of it being concluded, without giving a reason. To withdraw, email legal@venuechef.com from the address on the account within that period.
By subscribing and using VenueChef straight away, you ask us to begin the service during the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you may be charged for what you have used up to the point you withdraw. This does not affect the right itself, and it does not apply to subscriptions taken out in the course of a business.
Changing plans
You can switch between plans through the billing portal or by contacting support. Plan changes may take effect at the next billing cycle or be prorated, depending on the plan and the timing of the change.
